Unemployed and mi primera fiesta de despedida
Busy doesn't even come into it- what with trips to Sweden
and friends tying the knot all over the country
days after the wedding out in the beautiful English countryside
I really haven't had time to update this thing.
But I am now officially jobless, a big step on the path that leads to life on the open road again. I am leaving a week on Wednesday- scary stuff! This has been a bit of a weird year all in, I spent the first six months of it up to my eyes in coursework for a diploma in teaching (which I haven't quite finished yet)- and in the middle of it left a job that I thought I would never leave, moved to a new school for a month before ending up at the school that I have just finished five months of teaching in.
I am finally excited once more about this trip. It is hard at times to do this kind of thing- leave all my wonderful friends behind in the UK and head off to a year or so of seemingless endless bus journeys and long periods of potential loneliness, plus wondering if I am constantly going to be the oldest person in the hostel! But I set myself this challenge because I don't know how to live any other way! And the industry I work in (teaching English as a foreign language) is not just accepting of this kind of trip but postively encourages them.
But I will leave you now... for now!
