Brighton your day!

First things first, a couple of weeks ago I met up with Ken and his wife. I knew Ken in Korea where we often met over a glass of tequila in the legendary Bar Bumpin in Gangneung. It was a crazy night because after a civilised evening in the pub I ended up in G-A-Y with some friends until that closed. Ah, god bless the night bus!

Then last weekend me and my sister did the race for life on Blackheath. Well, she raced and I walked around with her friend, Marion, having a little chat. Didn't realise that it would end up so hot and sunny after waking up in a rainstorm. My face was bright red for the next couple of days. All the teachers were pretending that it wasn't that bad wen another walked in and quite honestly said, 'what happened to your face?'

race for life

Yesterday I went to Brighton with some students and teachers. It was good to get out of London for the day if only to go to London by the sea

The rest of the week was seemingly spent waiting for Colombians to call- the calls never coming. Huff.

Barcelona and Girona

Right so I have been a bit slack, back for the whole week and nothing here really. Things have been crazy at work. And have been to the pub every evening bar one this week- weirdly I didn't go on Friday. I had a great time in Barcelona. It was very relaxing, until I started emailing people from work that is.. loser!

I made it back to the UK on a Friday so it would have been shameful not to have made it to the pub that night. And had to spend most of the weekend recovering... ah life is good

cable cars
The cable car, I didn't go on it this time

condoms on heads
this sign amused me on a boat trip. It is obviously where they keep the life jackets and the condoms to put on your head-I assume to keep the water out of your ears

feeding fish

In Barcelona people sit and feed the fish, better thanfeeding pigeons as they look better and don't poo everywhere. But they do look a bt weirder when they sit on your head

Parc Guell, my favourite place really

It looks like a gingerbread fairyland

to prove that I was there

I did go on this cable car up Mont Juic

Beer, remarkably smooth and gorgeous, we drank quite a few by the castle that afternoon, me and the American girl I spent a few days with

OK, I guess that I could do that, Rory. I certainly have photos of beer in every country that I have visited in my adult life, though not always me drinking it.

But let's get started with a more Spanish theme, here is me with some sangria

Completely and utterly

Just saw a guy walking along La Rambla without a stitch on, wearing only a backpack. And a group of people following him and giggling. Children!

I went out last night with a guy that I met in Colombia. A Colombian guy no less. He hasn´t been living in the city long and was actually even more clueless than me about where to go. We ended the night drinking beer in a square near my hostel off La Rambla, surrounded by drunk people from all nations.

Got to bed shortly before four am. Not bad work for a Wednesday... home tomorrow and the end of my lazy week.

Barcelona

There is a good reason why there hasn´t been any new photos on this site since my birthday... looking at my camera I just haven´t taken any since then. Weird! And not at all like me. Needless to say, I have taken a shedload here and had anticipated spending a happy hour or so putting them on here for your delight. But it is not to be, the PC won´t let me unless I pay more money, something which I am loathe to do as I will be home soon and can up and download photos to my heart´s content for free.

So words will have to do.

I have been here since Saturday but it only really started to feel like a full on holiday treat once it hit Monday morning and I wasn´t at school... hooray!! Now it is Wednesday and I am still here.. double hooray!

I met a girl on Sunday night and we have been hanging out for the last few days. She went home today however so I am alone once more. I am trying my best not to just take all the same photos as last year- a job made easier by not going to the same places.

I still love Barcelona and my love has got stronger with the introduction of some sangria and some very tasty local beers though I am not sure that 7.9% alcohol makes for a good lunch time drink. Me and Kate sat up high on Mount Juic overlooking the city in the sun the other day and downed a couple of AK Damms.

Sigh... a rellaxing few days and no mistake.

It looks a bit overcast today so I am not sure what I am going to do. I have to pop back to the hostel in a bit to see if there is a bed for tomorrow night- ah the joy of backpacking!

Catch ya later

¡Viva Espana!

Well it is raining here in Barcelona too. On and off. It is nice and warm though. I arrived into El Prat airport just before ten last night and went straight to the hostel. Walked through the door (well, into it but that is a different story) and heard someone say:

I know you, you are my teacher!

Actually I wasn´t her teacher but had covered a class of hers at some point this year for two days.

You can´t go anywhere!
